- In order for the devices to communicate with each other in one network, we need three very important things:
IP address (192.168.1.1) (10.0.0.2) - It is the digital ID of any device (computer, mobile phone, printer) that is connected to an information network that works with the Internet Protocols package.
Port (80 – 25 – 110 – 21 – 53 – 23)
Port: It is a port that distinguishes the information of each application from the other and the number of these ports
0 – 65536 ports, and each port operates on a different protocol.
Port: A slot or gate in all operating systems to regulate entry and exit of data.
Protocol (HTTP – SMTP -POP –FTP – DNS -HTTPS)
It is a program that is found automatically in any operating system (Windows – Mac – Linux) so any operating system in the world that has the HTTP protocol responsible for surfing the Internet.
For example, if you open a webpage through a browser and type a specific address, the operating system is automatically programmed to call the HTTP protocol responsible for surfing the Internet.
Port and Protocol complement each other.
In other words, for Protocol to be able to transfer information from the Internet to the user, and vice versa, Port is required.
For example, the Internet Browser Protocol, HTTP, handles Port 80, which is fixed on all operating systems
Each protocol that deals with a port is suitable for it and cannot share the same port number
More than one protocol.
