What is a port ?

Ports or ports are attached to the Internet Protocol address and are often used
Network protocols
Such as transport control protocol (TCP)
And user data protocol (UDP)

These ports are part of the device, in the sense that they are not felt like printers, etc.
The ports for printers and the like are called the (hardware) port.
These are called (network) ports.

Examples of services and related ports:

Post Office Protocol POP3 Upcoming Mail Post Office Protocol from Yahoo or any mail (runs on TCP port 110)
Smtp Mail that you send from your Hotmail or other mail (running on TCP port 25)
FTP File Transfer Protocol (works on TCP 20 and 21)
HTTP Hypertext Transfer Protocol used to transfer web pages (runs on TCP port 80).

The ports are divided into ranges as follows:
Zero to 1024 “well-known” ports
1024 to 49151 “registered” ports
From 49152 to 65535 “private / variable” outlets

We also said that web browsers use port 80 by default when accessing web pages, but you can also specify the port that you want to use by entering it in the URL like google.com:80 where here you ask the site to operate without using the SSL secure connection internet Without using HTTPS, but with IT Team this is not possible because the secure connection works automatically to protect the privacy of users on the network.
